William K. Ewan, 72, of Aurora passed away Saturday August 22, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born May 15, 1943 in Maryland to Richard and Dorothy (Spencer) Ewan.
Bill was a 1961 graduate of Lawrenceburg High School, a 1964 business graduate from Indiana University, and a 1967 graduate of the Indiana University School of Law. He served in the United States Navy from October 1, 1967, when he enlisted as an E-1, to March 1, 1999, retiring as Captain (O-6). While in the Navy, he received numerous awards, including a Navy Achievement Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal. Bill was an Attorney and sole practitioner at Ewan Law Office. He was very active in the local community, and among other things, served as Salvation Army Kettle Drive Chairman since 1995, Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church Lay Pastor, Relay for Life of Dearborn/Ohio Counties Photographer, Board Member of the Dearborn County Retired Teachers, and Board Member of RSVP.
He was a man of God, and a loving husband, father, and friend. He loved his country, hiking the Appalachian Trail, playing golf, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Naomi (Browne) Ewan; daughter, Andrea Ewan (Mike Wallace) of Aurora, IN; sister, Sue (Stephen) Manford of Moores Hill, IN and many other wonderful family and friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00 - 2:00 pm Saturday August 29, 2015 at Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church, 9813 Mt. Sinai Rd., Aurora, IN 47001. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm.
