Melva Louise Alvarado

Melva Louise Alvarado, 63 of Dillsboro passed away at her residence Tuesday November 18, 2014.  Melva was born Friday October 26, 1951 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Melvin Lewis Sr. and Selma (Walcott) King.  She married Eduardo Lopez Alvarado October 17, 1999 and he survives.  She was a member of the Hope Baptist Church at Dillsboro, and loved babysitting children, going to yard sales, singing in the church choir, and spending time with her family.   

     Melva is survived by her husband, Eduardo (Lalo) Alvarado of Dillsboro, daughters Tina Fitzpatrick of Follansbee, West Virginia; Amy Hudnall of Milan; Bobbi Sperringer of Lawrenceburg;  Carrie Owens of Westport; Darla Hyberger of Aurora; and Emily Sperringer of Dillsboro; father Melvin King Sr. of Dillsboro; brothers Melvin King Jr. of Dillsboro; and Paul King of New Port Richey, Florida; sisters Carlas Bunch of Williamsburg, Kentucky and Yvonne Schrock of Morning View, Kentucky; 19 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Selma King. 

      Funeral services will be at 12 Noon Friday, November 21, 2014 at Hope Baptist Church, 15593 US 50, Dillsboro with Pastor Tom Holt, Pastor Bob Bunch, and Bro. Terry Schrock officiating.  Burial will follow in Rising Sun Old Cemetery at Rising Sun.  Visitation will be on Thursday November 20, 6-8PM at the Hope Baptist Church..
