Mary Wilder

Mary Ellen Wilder, 78, of Bennington, IN, passed away on Monday, December 4th, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN. Mary was born in Eminence, KY on January 7, 1945, a daughter of the late Katherine  and Kenneth  Wilson. She was a graduate of Vevay High School, Class of 1962. Mary married William "Bill" Wilder on March 23, 1963. They were married over 59 years until Bill's passing on August 11, 2022. Mary was a homemaker for many years. After raising her children, Mary joined Bill in the family owned trucking business and drove many miles across the country with him.  Even after retirement they still enjoyed traveling together and taking Jeep rides visiting their friends. Mary enjoyed shopping, especially for furniture. She also liked to go camping, gardening and tending to her flowers. Mary's greatest pleasure came from her children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.Mary is  survived by her sons, Dave Wilder (Nina), of Milan, IN and Mark Wilder (Jodi), of Bear Branch, IN; by her daughters, Pam Cook (Allen), of Rising Sun, IN and Kathy Rook (Matt), of Vevay, IN; by her grandchildren: Sheena Graham, Josh Knigga, Jake Wilder, Justine Wilder, Aireal Rook, Tyler Rook, Alex Wilder, Allison Nobbe and Rylie Fryman; by her great grandchildren: Adrianna, Elijah, Annabelle, Jackson, Grayson, Deano, Charlotte, Buck, Savannah, Freddy and Rex. Mary is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Frakes, of Dillsboro, IN and by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband Bill. Graveside Services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, December 8th at New Liberty Cemetery in East Enterprise, IN.
