Marvin E Oakes, 73, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. He was born June 6, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Marvin Oakes and the late Delores (Compton) Dush.
Marvin retired from the City of Cincinnati where he worked for the Recreation Department.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Geno Oakes of Batavia, OH, Dale Wayne Oakes of New Richmond, OH; 2 daughters, Melina (Anthony) Burke of Greendale, IN, Angela (Patrick) Meese of Felicity, OH; brother, Jeff (Jusy) Oakes of Irvine, KY; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin E Oakes, Sr., his mother, Delores Dush, and his wife, Marilyn Oakes.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 7 pm, with Pastor Terry Rueger officiating.
