Calvin Jacob Nixon, 86, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born July 20, 1937 in Brookhaven, Mississippi, son of the late Jack and Lexie (Kayser) Nixon.Calvin was a veteran of the US Army.
He was a past member of the Rising Sun Church of Christ and was a member of the Aurora Masonic Lodge. He rode horses and would take his cars to car shows. He worked as a union welder for the Boilermakers Local #105.
He is survived by his children, Regina Langley of San Francisco, CA, Calie Nixon of Texas, Randy (Renee) Nixon of Hurley, MS, Carol Ann (Tim) Griffin of Moss Point, MS, Jacob Nixon of Marietta, OH; siblings, Paul Nixon of Lucedale, MS, Lonnie Nixon of Lucendale, MS; Annie Swain of Virgina; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lexie Nixon; wife, Margaret Nixon; and his sisters, Jackie Brogran, Martha Sue Howell; and 2 grandchildren, Amber and Levi Scarbrough.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Friday, July 5, 2024 at 1 pm.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
