Alfred W. “Al” McKinley, 84 of Milan passed away Monday December 29, 2014 at the Seasons in Milan. Al was born Monday January 6. 1930 in Moores Hill the son of John Wesley and Virginia (Craig) McKinley. He married Dirtha L. (Peters) McKinley June 6, 1959 and she preceded him in death June 7, 2010. Al worked in the body shop at Chris Volz Motors for many years. His passion was working on cars and fixing them up like new for people. He loved his Nash Metropolitan and Datsun pickup truck. Al was a 51 year member of the Sparta Baptist Church, and had been a member of the IOOF Odd Fellows Lodge. He also enjoyed fishing, doing jig-saw puzzles and spending time with his family.
Al is survived by daughter, Robin C. McKinley of Lawrenceburg and brother Richard Gene McKinley of Milan.
Funeral services will be 11AM Friday January 2, at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with Pastor Rick Burcham officiating. Burial will follow in New Craven Cemetery at Milan. Visitation will be 6-8PM Thursday and 9-11AM Friday also at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to either Sparta Baptist Church or Margaret Mary Hospice.
